TheraJoy for Therapists —
Remote EMDR, Done Right.

Full bilateral stimulation for telehealth EMDR. Therapist hosts, clients join free. No hardware to buy, lend, or ship.

The telehealth EMDR problem

Tactile bilateral stimulation is the most clinically preferred BLS modality for many clients — but it requires the client to have a device. Dedicated EMDR tappers cost $100–$450 per unit. Therapists either absorb that cost, pass it to clients, or skip tactile BLS entirely in telehealth. None of those are good options.

TheraJoy fixes this. Clients use Joy-Con controllers they may already own (every Nintendo Switch comes with them). If they don't own one, a new pair is ~$80. You pay a flat annual subscription. They pay nothing.

How it works

1

Subscribe to TheraJoy Pro

One flat fee ($79/yr) covers unlimited remote sessions with unlimited clients. No per-client or per-session charges.

2

Generate a session code

Before each session, open TheraJoy and tap "Host Session." Share the 6-digit code with your client via text, email, or your EHR messaging.

3

Client joins — free

Your client downloads TheraJoy free (no credit card), enters the code, and pairs their Joy-Cons once in ~2 minutes. You see them connected in your session view.

4

You control BLS in real time

Set speed (0.25–3 Hz), intensity, and modality from your device. Change mid-set. Your client feels or sees the BLS you've configured — on their device, under your control.

5

Run your session normally

TheraJoy runs alongside your HIPAA-compliant video platform — Zoom, doxy.me, SimplePractice, whatever you already use. BLS runs in TheraJoy; the session runs in your video tool.

Three modalities, therapist-controlled

Tactile

Joy-Con haptics

Client holds Joy-Con controllers. Alternating haptic taps under your control. LRA motors — precise, distinct, not a diffuse buzz.

Visual

Light bar

Smooth on-screen light bar on the client's device. Adjustable speed. No controllers required.

Auditory

Alternating tones

Stereo tones through headphones. Works over any connection. Combine with tactile or use alone.

The pricing math

TheraJoy vs. dedicated tappers

TheraTapper (one unit)~$200
Units needed for telehealth (per client)1 each
Cost to equip 5 telehealth clients~$1,000
TheraJoy Pro — all clients, full year$79
Client cost$0
Client hardware: Clients who own a Nintendo Switch already have Joy-Cons. For clients without one — a new Joy-Con pair is ~$80 on Amazon, still cheaper than any dedicated EMDR tapper, and they keep it.

Setup for clients

Send your client this link before their first session: therajoyapp.com/connect-joy-cons. It walks them through Bluetooth pairing in five steps (~2 minutes). After the first session, Joy-Cons reconnect automatically — no re-pairing needed.

Visual and auditory BLS work without controllers — clients with no Joy-Cons can still join remote sessions using the on-screen light bar or headphone tones.
