EMDR Tools for Therapists —
Equip Every Client.

One hardware tapper costs $100–$450. TheraJoy lets you equip your entire caseload for $79 a year — clients download free and join your session by code.

The hardware math doesn't scale

Traditional bilateral stimulation tools for therapists are physical devices — NeuroTek units, TheraTapper pulsers, handheld buzzers. A single unit costs $100–$600. A practice with 20 active EMDR clients either lends the same device session to session (tracking, cleaning, replacing batteries) or asks clients to buy their own.

One TheraTapper: ~$100–$450. Equipping 20 clients with personal units: $2,000–$9,000. TheraJoy Pro for the therapist: $79/yr. Each client downloads free.

TheraJoy's model is different. The therapist subscribes to Pro ($79/yr). Each client downloads the app free and joins the therapist's session via a shared code — no subscription, no purchase, no setup beyond pairing their Joy-Cons. The therapist controls session speed, intensity, and bilateral pattern from their own device in real time.

What's included in the therapist toolkit

TheraJoy covers all three modalities of bilateral stimulation for EMDR therapy in a single app:

  • Tactile: Joy-Con haptic alternation — adjustable speed (0.25–3 Hz) and intensity, linear resonance actuators for clean distinct pulses
  • Auditory: Bilateral tones through headphones — left and right channel alternation, adjustable rate
  • Visual: Built-in light bar with alternating visual bilateral stimulation for clients who prefer eye movement

All three modes are available within the same session — therapists can switch mid-session based on client response without leaving the app.

Setting up your practice

1

Download TheraJoy and subscribe to Pro

Free 7-day trial — no credit card needed to start. Pro plan is $79/yr. Covers unlimited sessions and all three BLS modalities.

2

Create a session and share the code

Start a remote session in the app and share the 6-character code with your client — by text, email, or in the video call chat. They enter it in their own TheraJoy app to join.

3

Client pairs their Joy-Cons and joins

Clients with a Nintendo Switch already have Joy-Cons. New to Joy-Cons? Point them to the Joy-Con pairing guide — it takes under two minutes. Once joined, you control all session parameters from your device.

For EMDR teletherapy

Remote EMDR sessions have historically required either asking clients to purchase their own hardware (a real barrier) or relying on visual-only bilateral stimulation. TheraJoy's remote session model solves this: clients in their homes with their Joy-Cons receive the same tactile bilateral stimulation as an in-person session — controlled entirely by the therapist.

Clients join free. The therapist's Pro subscription covers all remote sessions across all clients. No per-session fees, no per-client subscriptions.

For solo practitioners and group practices

The model scales the same way for both. A solo therapist pays $79/yr for unlimited clients. A group practice where each clinician does EMDR work can have each therapist subscribe individually — each manages their own client sessions independently. There's no enterprise tier required.
